Insight Trader is a charting program supplied by Insight Trading. It accesses data from Bodhi6's BodhiOne format.

The BodhiOne format uses the following default directories:
• c:\Data\BodhiOne\%Source%\Stocks => If you are downloading information from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), this directory will contain any equity and/or index symbols you choose (ie. BHP and/or XJO etc.).
• c:\Data\BodhiOne\%Source%\Options => If you are downloading information from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), this directory will contain any Exchange Traded option symbols you choose (ie. AGLQ17 and/or BHPN98 etc.).

  The %Source% is a wildcard and will be replaced with the 3 letter Exchange Code of any Exchange data you download. This ensures that the symbols for each exchange are kept separate which stops any incorrect data being written into instruments which have the same symbol.

  These directories will only be created if you have selected symbols that fit their criteria.
  ⚠ Note - Directories are created automatically on your first download.

These instructions will take you through two processes:
• Configuring Bodhi6 to use the BodhiOne data format.
• Configuring Insight Trader to open BodhiOne files.
• Transferring you existing Save Charts, Portfolios and System Filters

Configuring Bodhi6 to use the BodhiOne data format

1. Install Bodhi6 using the installation instructions.
2. Once installed, launch Bodhi6. If this didn't happen automatically when you finished installation click the Bodhi6 icon on your desktop or select it from your Windows® Start menu (Start ➔ Infosoft ➔ Bodhi6)
3. Enter your details including email address and computer name then click the OK button.

   
   Bodhi6 can be installed on 2 computers with the same Registration details so it is important to give them individual Machine names.

4. Click the Register button to add your registration details.

   

   If you haven't received these details, click the Contact button and phone the number on the screen.

   

5. Enter your registrations details provided by JustData. Connect to the Internet then click the OK button.

   

   Bodhi6 will fetch your registration key from the JustData server.

   

6. If you have entered the details correctly a window will appear saying you are Registered. Click OK to continue.

   

7. The analysis software screen will be displayed.

   

8. Select Insight Trader and any other formats you require from the list of analysis software. Once your selections are made, then click the x button.

   

9. Bodhi6 is now configured to download your chosen data into the software format/s you've selected.

   

10. If you have purchased historical data, choose Tool > History > Load from the menu. This may take a few hours depending on the speed of your Internet connection and processing power of your PC.

    

    If you are trialing the software you can download 6-months of history.
    1. Click the Configure button.

       

    2. The Configuration screen will appear displaying the exchanges you are registered to download.

       

    3. Using your mouse, right-click over the word Active to display the Reset option and select Received.

       

    4. The Received date box will appear. This will be automatically set to a date 6-months in the past. Click the OK button to download 6-months of data or change this date using the drop-down box.
       Please Note: you will not be able to download data earlier than this date.

         

    5. When you're satisfied with the date you have chosen, click the OK button.
    6. Exit the Configuration screen by clicking on the [x] button.
11. Click the Catchup button to get the current data.

    

    If you are trialing the software click the Close button to continue downloading data.
    *If your antivirus displays a message, you need to allow for Bodhi6 data to download.

You have successfully configured Bodhi6 and imported historical data into a BodhiOne format (c:\Data\BodhiOne\ASX\Stocks directory). From now on, you will only need to press the Catchup button in Bodhi6 each night to retrieve the latest data.

Configuring Insight Trader to open BodhiOne files

1. You need to log on to the 'stem' directory of your BodhiOne ASX database (i.e. the directory just below the one(s) where the individual data files are stored).
   ⚠ Note - only Insight Trader versions higher than 18.1f will read BodhiOne files.
   To do this, open Insight Trader and do the following:
   1. Go to Format then Preferences.

      

   2. In the box labeled Path for configuration and data files, click on the button then browse to the default ASX directory - c:\Data\BodhiOne\ASX. Once selected, click the OK button then Yes to establish it as an Insight Trader directory.

      

   3. Specify that the stock prices are in dollars and volume in 1's.

      

   4. Click OK to close the dialog box.
   5. Click Yes to save the configuration.

      

2. If you want to log on to other Stock Market Databases (i.e. c:\Data\BodhiOne\NZE) then follow Step 1 for each new database.
3. You will be told there is no resident file for the other directories.

   

   If this occurs, enter the following defaults when prompted for the different Market groups:

   In future any of these directories can be easily accessed instantaneously by using the New directory toolbar button (no 11) and double-clicking on the directory required.

   

Transferring you existing Save Charts, Portfolios and System Filters

1. If Insight Trader is currently open, exit the software.
2. Open File Explorer and under Windows C:, navigate to the Data\BodhiOne\ASX\winitsys\working directory.

   

3. Right-click on the working directory and choose Rename from the drop-down menu.

   

   Change the name to Old working then click [ENTER] on your keyboard.

   

4. Using File Explorer navigate to your existing working directory (i.e. c:\WINIT).

   

   Click on the directory so it is highlighted then using your keyboard select [Ctrl] plus [C] to copy the directory to your clipboard.
5. Now using File Explorer navigate to your C:\Data\BodhiOne\ASX\winitsys directory and using your keyboard select [Ctrl] plus [V] to paste your existing working directory.

   

6. The working directory from WINIT will commence copying to the C:\Data\BodhiOne\ASX\winitsys directory. A dialog box will display showing you the progress of the copying.

   

   Once completed, you will see the directory working under winitsys and the directory you renamed to Old working.
